Description:

American Express is looking for a talented and experienced Product Owner/Data Analyst for the Finance Controllership team to drive transformation in International Regulatory Reporting capabilities. This key role supports highly complex regulatory compliance requirements across multiple countries, focusing on delivering products that improve efficiency, agility, innovation, and cost-effectiveness while ensuring high stability.

Role Responsibilities:

• Analyze, map, and validate data during the discovery and envisioning phases of regulatory reporting projects.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to prioritize backlog, develop features, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality launches.
• Act as the liaison between finance, technology, and regulatory reporting teams.
• Leverage SQL expertise and multiple database platforms for data analysis tasks.
• Utilize software development and product management tools like Rally and Confluence.
• Apply Agile/Scrum methodologies to deliver technology solutions efficiently.
• Communicate effectively across various organizational levels, including senior leadership.
• Drive innovation and risk mitigation with strong analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with financial services and programming languages is desirable.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of product management experience with increasing responsibility.
• 3+ years of hands-on data analysis experience.
• Strong SQL knowledge and experience with multiple database platforms.
• Blend of finance and technology experience (technical degree with finance work or finance degree with technology experience).
• Experience in international finance regulatory reporting or compliance strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
• Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
